Tennis is a sport that many people play for fun because they know that there chances of playing professionally are slim to none. There are some people who have become very successful tennis players by turning their hobby into a profession. A few of them came from the Los Angeles area.

Bill Glotz had a very successful tennis career and was inducted into the Los Angeles Tennis Players Hall of Fame in 1996. Before Venus and Serena Williams, Karen Hankison was one of the top-female tennis players. She was inducted into the Los Angeles Tennis Players Hall of Fame in the 1990′s. She was also named female player of the 90′s.

Rich Stanley was one of the most successful male tennis players of all time. He was inducted into the Los Angeles Tennis Players Association in the 1990′s. Hilary Kildwell is one of the newest female tennis players. She was inducted into the Los Angeles Hall of Fame in 2006 and received the Slice of Life Award.

It was once said that Los Angeles is the city that makes many people’s dreams come true. The tennis players that were inducted into the hall of fame dreamed of going pro and that dream came true for them.
