Author: Los Angeles, California is the kind of city that has everything. Whether you’re a country club member or a hardcore athlete playing on public courts, there is a huge tennis scene in L.A.. If you’re looking for a place to buy tennis equipment and run into like minded players, you can head in just about any direction. Sorry to say, East L.A. is lacking tennis shops but anywhere from Glendale and Pasadena all the way out to Santa Monica, the greater L.A. area has plenty to choose from. Starting in San Marino and working your way toward the coast, you can find the San Marino Tennis Ctr as well as Tennis Unlimited in San Gabriel. Visit Racket Doctor if you’re in the area of Glendale Boulevard. These three shops do a great job of serving the Northeast area of L.A.
Once you get closer to Beverly Hills, the shops get bigger, and more frequent. Some of the best choices in the Beverly Hills area are Merchant of Tennis, on South La Cienega Boulevard, and Pate Martin’s Tennis & Sports, on South Robertson. Westwood Sporting Goods, on Gayley Avenue, is also a full service tennis shop, despite the general purpose sound of it’s name.
